Resurrection Philadelphia is a historic church at 17th & Sansom Streets in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood of Center City Philadelphia. Our spaces – specifically our sanctuary and fellowship hall (“chapel”) – are available to be rented for a variety of special events, including Christian weddings and receptions.

Our 19th-century sanctuary seats approximately 750 people including the balcony and was recently renovated upon our church’s purchase of the building from First Baptist Church in 2014. The sanctuary is adorned on three sides with stained glass, ceiling paintings, a pipe organ, and wooden pews and paneling. See picture slideshow below.

Our Chapel adjacent to the sanctuary, has a capacity of 150 people and can be used as a reception space, either banquet or reception style, with commercial kitchen attached for catering staging area. 

Use of tables, chairs, A/V equipment, basic sanctuary furniture (including movable central stairs to the stage), etc. are available with rental of the space(s).

In addition, Resurrection has an established relationship with a nearby parking garage which provides discounted parking to renters.

Resurrection’s Rental Policy & Guidelines for space rentals can be found here. This document contains preliminary information about payment, cancellations, set-up/clean-up, use of A/V equipment, etc. The cost of renting Resurrection’s space takes a number of factors into account, including which spaces are being rented, cleaning fees, on-site staff, etc.
