Resurrection has a surprisingly large number of professional artists among its attendees and members–in no small part because, as Ann Hamilton would have said, we made a space for it to happen. From its founding, Resurrection has invested in the health and happiness of artists, through commissions of music and art for inclusion in holiday services, through provision of regular work for Philadelphia musicians at Sunday services, and through heartfelt welcome into a warm and receptive community. This is all to be celebrated. It is an expression of the grace of God.

After years of informal mentorship and discipleship, Christopher McDonald and Joshua Stamper convened the Artist Parish, a community and study group for artists in Resurrection to receive care, support one another, and pursue artistic and spiritual fulfillment together. The Artist Parish meets semi-regularly for study, and attends book readings, support and friendship. Artists of all mediums and disciplines are welcome!
